The 2019 Year of the Pig quarter-ounce gold coin from the UK’s Royal Mint forms part of the Royal Mint’s Shengxiao collection, highlighting the 12 animals that make up the Chinese zodiac. Based on the Chinese lunar calendar, each year is named after a different animal. Those born in the year of the pig are seen hard-working and pragmatic. Because of their energy and enthusiasm, they often go far in life.

Reverse:
The reverse of the coin was designed by Harry Brockaway, and features an image of a sow nursing her piglets in the foreground, with a country home in the background, along with the Chinese character for pig.

Obverse:
The obverse of the coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.

The sixth coin in the Royal Mint’s Lunar series, these 2019 Year of the Pig coins aren’t being minted any more. Supplies are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Don’t miss out on your chance to add this beautiful coin to your precious metals investment portfolio.
