Based on the Chinese lunar calendar, each year is named after a different animal. Those born in the year of the monkey are seen as intelligent and gifted, thinking calmly and logically.
Reverse:
The reverse of the coin was designed by Wuon-Gean Ho, and features an image of a rhesus monkey swinging through the trees, with another monkey in the background, along with the Chinese character for monkey.
Obverse:
The obverse of the coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.
The third coin in the Royal Mint’s Lunar series, these 2016 Year of the Monkey coins are no longer in production. With limited supplies still available, this could be your last chance to add this beautiful coin to your investment portfolio.
